Judaism is the religion of the Jewish people and it is an ancient monotheistic religion. Jewish Studies involve the religion, philosophy and culture of the Jewish people in their historical context to the present day. Jewish Studies degree programs are a multidisciplinary academic field that teaches a variety of subjects, some of which include Jewish Philosophy, Judaism, Hebrew Prophets, History of Israel, Political Philosophy, Social Psychology, History of Anti-Semitism, History of the Jews: From the Beginning to the Modern State of Israel, Jewish Art and Architecture, Jewish Literature and more. Students in Jewish Studies also have the opportunity to explore more current topics like Politics and Conflict in Israel and Palestine, Israeli Culture, Society, and Politics, Modern Hebrew Literature, History of Jewish Women and The Jewish Community around the world. A degree course in Jewish Studies provides students with in-depth knowledge of Jewish culture, understanding of Jewish history and Judaism, and transferable professional skills in the field. Graduates can expect a variety of career prospects ahead of them, for example in the fields of education, law, social justice advocacy, international relations, correspondence, history, political science and others.
