Fachhochschule Potsdam University of Applied Sciences, founded in 1991, is a public university seated in Potsdam, Brandenburg. The University is split up into five faculties: the Faculty of Stadt/Bau/Kultur, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Design, the Faculty of Information Sciences, and the Faculty of Social and Educational Sciences. More than 3,000 students are currently enrolled there in 26 practice-oriented study programs at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Diploma level. On offer at Bachelor’s level are the study courses “Architecture and Urban Design“ (B.A.), “Archival Studies“ (B.A.), “Librarianship and Library Studies“ (B.A.), “Early Childhood Education“ (B.A.), “European Media Studies“ (B.A.), “Information Studies“ (B.A.), “Interface Design“ (B.A.), “Communication Design“ (B.A.), “Conservation and Restauration“ (B.A.), “Arts Management and Cultural Work“ (B.A.), “Product Design“ (B.A.), as well as “Social Work“ (B.A., also offered as an online distance learning course). Offered at Master’s level are the study courses “Architecture and Urban Design“ (M.A.), “Building Refurbishment“ (M.Eng.), “Design“ (M.A.), “European Media Studies“ (M.A.), “Early Childhood Education“ (M.A.), “Information Sciences“ (M.A.), “Conservation and Restauration“ (M.A.), “Social Work with a Focus on the Family“ (M.A.), as well as “Urban Futures“ (M.A.). The scope of Diploma studies includes the study courses “Civil Engineering“ (Dipl.-.Ing. (FH)). The range of the University’s educational portfolio is rounded off by some continuing education studies, including the Master courses “Archival Studies“ (M.A.), “Childhood Studies and Children’s Rights“ (M.A.), and “Social Management“ (M.A.), as well as various seminars and certificate courses.
