The Trier University of Applied Sciences, founded in 1996, is a public university seated in Trier, Rhineland-Palatinate. With more than 8,000 students, it ranks among the largest universities of applied sciences in Rhineland-Palatinate. The University is comprised of seven faculties: the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Food Technology, Supply Technology, the Faculty of Design, the Faculty of Computer Science, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Economics. The conventional course offerings are complemented by a number of cooperative and continuing education studies. The scope of cooperative studies includes the degree courses “Physiotherapy – Technology and Therapy“, “Speech and Language Therapy“, “Occupational Therapy“, “Mechanical Engineering“, and “Business Management“. As for continuing education studies, the University provides the Master courses “Gemstone and Jewellery“, “Computer Science“ (distance learning program), “Insolvency and Reorganisation Law“, “International Material Flow Management“, “Network Technology and Network Operations“, “Sustainable Change – From Knowledge to Action“, as well as the certificate courses “Computer Science“, “Business Mediation“, “Timber Engineering“, “Project Management“, “Gemstone and Jewellery“, and “Industrial Project manager“. Depending on the respective program, graduates of the Trier University of Applied Sciences receive a B.A., BFA, B.Sc., B.Eng., LL.B., M.A., MFA, M.Sc., M.Comp.Sc., M.Eng., or LL.M.
