Bad Homburg, also known as Bad Homburg von der Höhe, is a city in Germany, situated in the federal state of Hesse and the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area. The total area of Bad Homburg equals 51.17 km2, with more than 53,000 people living, studying or working in the city. The official language spoken in the city of Bad Homburg is German. The climate in the city can be defined as oceanic with significant rainfall during the year. The summers are very warm and nice but the winters are cold and windy. December, January, and February are the coldest with temperatures between -3 and 0 °C. During July and August, temperatures usually go up to 22-24 °C. Just like every other city in the Federal Republic, Bad Homburg has a good and reliable public transportation network. There are several bus lines and a railway that serve the city.
