The bus service of the OVF was set up especially for students. There is also a railway station in Neuendettelsau where trains run every hour weekdays and every two hours on weekends and public holidays. Within the town, there is a public bus line which runs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The best way to get around is on foot or by bicycle. Neuendettelsau was originally a farming village. Today, there is a total of 46 farms in the entire municipality. The town is famous for the former water castle Neuendettelsau, its friendly atmosphere and charming typical Bavarian small town architecture.

Neuendettelsau is home to the Augustana Divinity School Neuendettelsau, a theological higher education institution established in 1947. It is the Theological College of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bavaria. The Augustana Divinity School Neuendettelsau currently accommodates around 150 to 200 students who are enrolled in the Protestant Theology degree program, which has a duration of 10 semesters. Students pursuing a degree in Protestant Theology have the opportunity to study subjects like Church and Dogma History, Systematic Theology, Philosophy, Practical Theology, Feminist Theology and Gender Studies, as well as learn everything about the Old and New Testament. Upon graduation, they obtain a degree in Church Examination which is a necessary tool for becoming a pastor in Germany. Augustana Divinity School Neuendettelsau also has the right to confer doctoral degrees. All courses are taught in German only. The town has a long history, but unfortunately, apart from the old bakery, none of the buildings from its original landscape remained. The Löhe-Zeit-Museum in Neuendettelsau shows the life of the resident population of the second half of the 19th century. There is a number of sports facilities in Neuendettelsau – the Alfred Kolb Sports Center, two football fields, a tennis park, and a youth center. Regular events are also organized in the town.
