Wiesbaden really is an ideal choice for those students who would love to live in the heart of Europe and still receive an excellent level of education. Founded in 1971, the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences, also known as RheinMain University of Applied Sciences, is a medium-sized higher education institution that is currently home to more than 8,000 students. The university offers a wide spectrum of degree courses prospective students can choose from, including Digital Business Management, Information Technology, Law and Management in Social Work and many others. Even though the majority of the degree courses are taught in German as a main language of instruction, there are also courses that are offered in English, too. When it comes to student accommodation, prospective students coming to Wiesbaden can either apply for a place in a student hall of residence or look for private accommodation themselves instead. There are several student houses located in Wiesbaden and they all provide different types of rooms. Living in a student dormitory is always cheaper compared to private accommodation. Usually, a student can expect to pay between 280 and 350 euros per month for a room. However, places in the dormitories are strictly limited, which is why all those students who want to get a room there have to apply as early as possible. There are also many cases when two or more students share a big flat and each one of them has its own room. In Wiesbaden, a single room in a shared flat comes at the price of 380 to 500 EUR, depending on where the apartment is located.
