Founded in 2009 as the result of the merge of two technical colleges, Jade University of Applied Sciences is a modern higher education institute that draws on a long-established educational tradition despite its young age. The university offers over 50 courses both at Bachelor’s and Master’s level, focusing on various areas, including Architecture, Maritimes, Media, Tourism, Engineering, and many others. Apart from its main campus in Wilhelmshaven, the university has two other locations in Oldenburg and Elsfleth. Three out of the six departments can be found here, whereas another two are in Oldenburg and only one in Elsfleth. The university accommodates over 7,000 students, of which the highest number, around 4,800, is here at the Wilhelmshaven campus. Jade University relies on innovative approaches to teaching and research and its supportive environment for each and every one of the students choosing to study here. Finding accommodation in Wilhelmshaven is quite easy since the market here is extremely varied, allowing students to choose the perfect place to live during their stay in the coastal city. Located right next to the campus is the Wiesenhof student residence hall, offering rooms and shared flats completely furnished and at affordable prices.
