Where to live in Berlin on a budget?
Published by: CostaN
Hello! I am moving to study in Berlin soon and was wondering where is the best place to live. I can’t afford a very expensive apartment, so I need something cheap, but not old and uncomfortable. Do you recommend living in a shared flat? I will be with 3 friedns so maybe we can find something together? I looked on some websites, but didn’t find anything reliable, maybe we should go see in person to find a good flat. Also, what is the best area to live for students? Is there a neighborhood that is not safe?

I’d say Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg , Pankow and Prenzlauer Berg are good areas to live in especially for students. These are all easy to get to by subway, bus or tram and also there are a lot of cheap and interesting places to eat or have drinks..

Hi, Costa! Did you search for student accommodation? The cheapest option is student dorms, so maybe start there. But if you want to share an apartment with friends, go for it. I found my apartment on housinganywhere.com – there are lots of offers there. You can sort prices and stuff and I’m sure youll find something for you and your friends :)
