I’m studying Marketing as my main subject, but our syllabus contains nothing about Digital Marketing. How is it at your uni?

I’m in my first year at uni and I’m studying Marketing. It’s what I wanted to study, so I was very excited when I got accepted, but when we started studying it was different from what I expected. I was looking forward to studying Digital Marketing, because I think it’s important nowadays and something no business can go without, but I don’t have it in my syllabus. Now I’m thinking of taking up a course or even changing my uni. Do you know where I can learn about Digital Marketing?

Do you mean your syllabus only for the first year or for the whole course of study? Maybe you will have it in the next semesters.

are you sure you dont have it? Its surprising that unis wont include digital marketing in 2020??

Hi, Leon! If your syllabus doesn’t include Digital marketing and that’s very important for you, you can do one of two things: - Transfer to another university where the subject is taught - Sign up for a digital markering course Maybe check at your university first if it offers such a course. For students it is likely free, so that’s probably your best option. If not, there are courses now even on the internet, but some are free and some are paid. If you don’t have the money to pay, there are always free options.

I checked the syllabus for the whole course of study and there is nothing on Digital Marketing! I was surprised too. Thanks for the suggestion, Isa, I will check for a free course, because I don\t want to change my university yet..

Leon, I think during the pandemic many universities are offering free online courses! You should check them out – I heard even Harvard does this right now!!
