Master’s degree: pros and cons. Should I get one?
Published by: LjubicaK
Hello, everyone. I am writing about my dilemma: basically, I am almost at the end of my bachelor studies and don’t know whether I should apply for a master’s degree. I made a list of pros and cons, but I still can’t decide. My bachelor’s degree is in graphic design, so I’m not sure if I need a master’s.I read online that nowadays a master’s degree is essential and also companies give higher salaries to master’s graduates. Is it really true? Do you know if I can find a good job with just a bachelor’s degree? What do you think? Do you have a master’s degree?

I absolutely think a master degree is worth it. As you said, it will increase job opportunities and employers usually do pay master graduates better. They say it’s the new bachelor.

Hi, Ljubica! In my opinion a Master’s degree is not always necessary. It is true that Master’s graduates are generally well-regarded by companies, but that’s not the only prerequisite you need to be hired. Experience is also important and if you have a diploma but not experience at all, that won’t increase your chances much. I guess it’s a personal decision.

For some jobs, you need a master’s degree before you even submit your resume. Employers see it as the best proof of hard work and dedication so it’s definitely worth it.

Hello Ljubica!! I also think a master’s degree can only be a plus, but in the end you should decide. Why don’t you take a year off, see if you can find a good job and if not, start a master’s degree.
