How to travel in pandemic

Published by:  ClaraS

Hello! I am about to travel back to the US and I was wondering what should I expect on airports and in the plane in terms of safety requirements. I am aware of the basics like wearing a mask/shield, keeping distance, sanitize my hands, etc. but I was wondering if there are any screenings that might take longer. Has anyone travelled so far to the US or anywhere else? Are the airports crowded?

Make sure that you dont travel if you are not feeling well or travel with someone who is sick. I don’t think that there are any other specific requirements but you need to really take serious precaussions if you don’t want to expose yourself to the virus. I would say that maybe you should bring more than one mask with you and change them on every two or three hours just in case. Also avoid touching too many surfaces or use gloves.

I went back to Washington few days ago from Cologne and it was alright. Not too hectic but I had to wait a lot in a line for the screening. Despite the restrictions there are still many people that don’t follow them so you might as well really take double precausions and distance yourself from others.

My mother was with me and she left few days ago. I booked the tickets and did the check-in online so she can avoit the queues. I was reading online what precautions should she take during travelling because she is in her 60s now and not in the best health. Basically make sure you sanitize your hands frequently and dont touch your face. Cover your nose not only your mouth with a mask and if you need to sneeze or cough do that in a tissue.
