The state examination program “Art Education” at Academy of Fine Arts Munich is a 3-year course with a focus on the development of artistic communication methods. Apart from in-depth pedagogical and didactic training, the program also provides intensive practice that prepares students for the first state examination in art at grammar schools. The course is aimed at artists with a degree from an art college or academy and requires an interest in pedagogy and social issues as well as active, artistic practice. Furthermore, an interest in contemporary art and artistic communication is required. In addition, candidates must also present a portfolio. Graduates can go on to work in art and art education at high schools in Bavaria in double subjects.
