The Academy of Fine Arts Nuremberg, founded in 1662, is a public art school seated in Nuremberg, Bavaria. It currently accomodates more than 300 students. The Academy is organized into “classes“ which break down into two areas: Applied Arts, and Fine Arts. The area of Applied Arts includes the Class for Fine Arts and Gold – Silversmithing, as well as the Class for Graphic Design/Visual Communication. The area of Fine Arts comprises the Class for Fine Arts, the Class for Photography, the Class for Fine Arts, the Class for Sculpting, the Class for Painting and Art Education, the Class for Art History, the Class for Painting, and the Class for Artistic Conceptions. Prospective students are offered the study courses “Graphic Design/Visueal Communication“, “Fine Arts and Gold –Silversmithing“, the teacher education program “Art Education, higher secondary teaching qualification“, which can be taken in all classes for fine arts, as well as the postgraduate study course “Artistic Practice in the Public Space“. Applicants are required to undergo an admission procedure.
