The Diploma program “Conservation and Restoration” is a German-taught program offered at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Throughout their studies, participants will receive in-depth theoretical and practical training. They’ll have the opportunity to choose from five majors in Conservation and Restoration - Paintings/Sculpture, Wood/Historical Musical Instruments, Paper/Photo/Book/Archival Material, Mural/Architectural Surface, or Modern and Contemporary Art. Also, students can personalise their education by taking up elective modules. Through various case studies and group projects, they’ll acquire hands-on experience and key competencies. The program prepares graduates for the dynamic working environment and qualifies them to assume positions in various sectors of the cultural and art industries.
