The Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig, founded in 1764, is a public art school seated in Leipzig, Saxony. It provides more than 600 students with an artistic education. Prospective students have the chance to choose between four Diploma degree courses, namely: “Painting/Graphic Art“, “Book Arts/Graphic Design“ (subjects: System Design, Typography, Illustration of Font), “Photography“, and “Media Arts“ (subject classes: Intermedia, Installation and Space, Fine Arts, Expanded Cinema). The scope of studies offered is complemented by the continuing education Master program “Cultures of the Curatorial“ (M.A.), which is designed to convey the methods of developing, organizing and implementing curatorial projects as well as the theoretical means to analyze, discuss, and further develop exhibitions in particular.
