The Akkon University for Human Sciences in Berlin provides the study course “Bachelor of Science in Advanced Clinical Nursing: Intensive and Anesthetic Care”. The studies are planned for six part-time semesters, so that the working process will not be disturbed. The credit points obtained are 180. The course offers further training in practical and academic contexts, in view of the complex, critical situations nursing specialists will have to handle. Evidence-based knowledge is the primary focus of the teaching methodology, for which group, project and interactive work is performed. Guest lecturers, who are practitioners also, will stimulate discussions, and exchange of knowledge, as well as provide for individual reflection and vast literature reference. With the competence gained, students will be qualified to work in nursing homes, clinics, rehabilitation facilities, dealing with pain management, anesthesia and intensive care.
