The six-semester part-time program „Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management: Rescue Service Management” can be studied at Akkon University for Human Sciences in Berlin. The concept behind it is the further specialization and theoretical, as well as practical, training of the professionals who are already active in fire brigades, rescue services, the army, in emergency units, civil protection, hazard prevention, and disaster control, especially those who are in charge and manage the crisis relief operations. To attend these, a complex, broad–specter preparation is needed, and the degree course does it by combining knowledge from different fields of expertise. Competence is acquired through subject-specific, evidence-based methodology. Psychology, sociology, communication, leadership, crowd management, HR management, planning and law, are among the spheres to be studied for a comprehensive, solid preparation in Rescue Service Management.
