The degree course “Bachelor of Arts in Medical and Emergency Pedagogy” at the Akkon University for Human Sciences in Berlin has a duration of seven semesters and is part-time. The academic load is equivalent to 210 credits. The degree is suitable for those, already practicing in the sphere of nursing, emergency medicine or rescue services, or in the health sector, health industry, advisory positions in schools and educational institutions. Didactic competence will be built for the teaching responsibilities in technical schools, evidence-based and applicable theory will be discussed as a model for the specific technical competence. Working on medical education research projects is also an option for professional development, as is the continuing postgraduate education course in this area of expertise. Graduates will be prepared to design, apply and evaluate learning processes, primarily at health schools. For this reason, a broad range of disciplines will be included in the course, like basic and advanced modules in anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, emergency medicine, psychology, pedagogy, didactics, educational system knowledge.
