Apart from the degree courses, the Akkon University for Human Sciences in Berlin, renowned for its interdisciplinary nursing, medicine, pedagogy, social affairs, humanitarian, and civil protections scope of teaching and expertise, offers also a certificate +PLUS training course in “Migration and Integration”. In cooperation with national and international humanitarian organizations, NGOs, and public insitutions, and in view of the current geopolitical situation, the university has analysed the need for short-term, part-time theoretical preparation of specialists on the question of migration. Germany has a leading number of immigrants, so their integration is a matter of national political and social concern. During one semester, in five classroom blocks of 42 hours each, in synchronous digital classrooms on the online campus, students will attain a university certificate worth 25 ECTS. There are five modules, in a flexible scheme, and each ends with an exam. These concern topics of society and transition, migration and border policies, transcultural and intercultural skills, institutional strategies and practical analysis.
