The Albstadt-Sigmaringen University, founded in 1971, is a public higher education institution specializing in Engineering, Business Science and Management, Computer Science, and Life Sciences. Approximately 3,500 students are enrolled at the two locations of Albstadt and Sigmaringen (Baden-Wuerttemberg). While the faculties of Engineering and Computer Science are located in Albstadt, the faculties of Business Science and Management and Life Sciences are situated in Sigmaringen. The scope of course offerings amounts to 23 study courses, 12 being Bachelor degree courses and 11 being Master degree courses. Aside from conventional studies, the University provides the opportunity of a combination study program in Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material and Process Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, which, in partnership with regional companies, to obtain both a university degree and Chamber of Industry and Commerce qualification within four and a half years. Being a member of the Internationale Bodensee-Hochschule newtork, Albstadt-Sigmaringen University, along with 29 other member institutions, provide innovative study programs, projects, and courses within the Lake Constance region.
