The Bavarian University of Public Services, founded in 1974 and sponsored by the Free State of Bavaria, is a higher education institution seated in Munich, Bavaria. It has further locations in Fürstenfeldbruck, Herrsching am Ammersee, Hof, Kaufbeuren, Starnberg, Sulzbach-Rosenberg, as well as Wasserburg am Inn. The University’s task is to provide vocational and advanced training to senior civil servants. The Bavarian University of Public Services is split up into six departments: the Department of General Internal Administration, the Department of Archives and Librarianship, the Department of Finance, the Department of Police, the Department of Judicature, and the Department of Social Administration. The Department of General Internal Administration offers the study courses “General Internal Administration“ (Dipl.-Verww. (FH)), and “Administrative Computer Science“ (Dipl.-Verwaltungsinformatiker (FH)). In the Department of Archives and Librarianship, prospective students can choose between the following study courses: “Librarianship“ (Dipl.-Bibl. (FH)), “Archives“ (Dipl.-Archivar (FH)), as well as “Library and Information Management“ (B.A.). The Department of Finance provides the study courses “Taxation“ (Dipl-Finw. (FH)), and “Public Finance“ (Dipl-Verww. (FH)). The Department of Police offers the specialist career “Police and Protection of the Constitution“ (Dipl.-Verww. (FH)). In the Department of Judicature, the study courses “Judicature“ (Dipl.-Rpfl. (FH), and “Law Enforcement“ (Dipl.-Verww.) are on offer. The Department of Social Administration provides the study courses “Pension Insurance“ (Dipl.-Verww. (FH)), and “Public Social Administration“ (Dipl.-Verww. (FH)). The Bavarian University of Public Services currently accomodates nearly 4,000 students.
