Bern University of Teacher Education, founded in 2005, is a public university seated in Bern. Accomodating almost 2,500 students, it is one of the largest teacher education universities in Switzerland. Students of Bern University of Teacher Education are trained as teachers at pre-primary, primary, secondary and higher secondary level, as well as remedial teachers. The scope of studies offered includes the six-semester Bachelor degree program “Pre-Prmary and Primary Level“, the Master degree program “Secondary Level I“, the Diploma program “Secondary Level II“ (Teaching Diploma/Extended Diploma for Grammar Schools), as well as the Master programs “Remedial Education“, and “Teaching Methodology“ (“Joint Master in Teaching Methodology Physical Education“, “Cooperative Master’s Course in Teaching Methodology Textiles and Technical Design – Design“, “Teaching Methodology Nature, Man, Society and Sustainable Development“).
