BIMM University was founded in 2001 as BIMM Institute. Since its foundation, the institute has expanded and today operates as a state-recognized university in a group of eight independent colleges, where over 8,300 students study. The colleges are based in United Kingdom, Ireland and Germany. Entirely concentrated on musical studies, the university aims to thoroughly prepare students for the music industry. The top priorities for BIMM are high-quality music education and hands-on experiences through which talent is nurtured and professional growth is encouraged. The university offers a variety of in-depth musical degrees, such as “Music Production”, “Popular Music Performance – Guitar, Bass, Drums and Vocals”, “Songwriting”, “Music Business”, “Popular Music Practice”, and more. Lecturers at BIMM are leading industry professionals with real-world expertise. Through a collaborative process, students are able to work closely with the music industry. The success of alumni including James Bay, George Ezra, Ella Mai and Tom Odell serves to demonstrate the high standard of education at BIMM. From 2020 BIMM colleges have introduced new degree courses, including Joint Honors options.
