The Bundeswehr University Munich, founded in 1973, is a state university seated in Neubiberg, Bavaria. It provides almost 3,000 officers as well as officer candidates with a university education. The Bundeswehr University Munich accomodates ten departments, seven at University level and three at Fachhochschule level. The University departments are the Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, the Department of Computer Science, the Department of Aircraft and Aerospace Engineering, the Department of Humanities, the Department of Social and Political Sciences, as well as the Department of Economics and Organizational Sciences. The Fachhochschule departments comprise the Department of Business Administration, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, and the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
