The degree course “Bachelor of Music in Bassoon (Artistic)” is provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden with duration of eight semesters. The program provides Elective modules for setting individual priorities while the student master the methods that enable to work effectively even in a limited time frame and to become able to play an audition successfully and work towards technically and musically demanding literature. During their study, participants deepen the acquired instrumental methodological knowledge under the aspect of instrument-specific execution and mediation for different age groups. On the basis of the growing ability to work in a team the participants are able to integrate themselves into the ensemble with increasing musical sovereignty and personality and acquire distinctive, stylistically dependent, articulation and phrasing skills in the Jazz Orchestra. The program also focuses towards specific rehearsal topics, such as phrase quality, dynamics, intonation and timing.
