Description
The degree program “Master of Music in Choral Conducting” is with a duration of four semesters and provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Dresden. It deepens the knowledge acquired in the additional modules for new and old music which complement the main subject lessons as well as piano, accompaniment, score and sight reading. The skills learned in the bachelor's degree program in choral conducting are used as a basis to develop the conducting language, rehearsal techniques and sovereignty in dealing with choirs and orchestras at a high artistic level. While the focus is on demanding choral symphonic and a cappella literature of all stylistic epochs, the course imparts questions of interpretation, as well as the performance practice of new music at a focal point where students become able to confidently conduct choral symphonic works and professionally accompany soloists, perfect their conducting language and convey a confident appearance in front of choir and orchestra.
