With a duration of four semesters the program “Master of Music in Clarinet” is provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden. Depending on the instrument students are able to assume voice leading responsibilities within an ensemble and assume responsibility for fellow students by acting as an intermediary between the conductor and the ensemble. During their study, participants deal with interdisciplinary questions concerning the phenomenon of music concerning the areas of music performance and perception or the areas of analysis and interpretations for example knowledge of prominent concepts of interpretation of music and history, historical stages of musical of musical terminology, the justifiability of value judgments as a function of analysis and modes of analysis and reception, models of communication, sign and perception theory, modes of narrativity and transmediality.
