The degree program “Bachelor of Music in Composition” is provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden with a total length of eight semesters. Providing a broad basic training with focus on personal aesthetic positions the content of the bachelor degree program is including the composition major, elective focuses with different composition lecturers, acoustics and electronic sound generation in the studio, regular scenic projects and conceptual connection with music theory. Furthermore, students continue to build on their selected compositional focus and acquire the prerequisites for the creation of more extensive works and for larger instrumental combinations in the area of the chosen focus. Graduates are able to analyze their compositions with the help of a profound knowledge of composition history and music analysis.
