The “Master of Music in Harp” is offered by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden with a duration of four semesters. Participants gain the necessary expressiveness and stylistic confidence for its realization. The selection of important orchestral passages is expanded to include difficult literature while the audition passages are studied in depth and students are able to compose programs coherently, taking into account the composition of the audience and to express themselves in an understandable and convincing manner. During their study, participants deal with interdisciplinary questions concerning the phenomenon of music and obtain knowledge of prominent concepts of interpretation of music and history, historical stages of musical terminology, the justifiability of value judgments as a function of analysis and modes of analysis and reception, models of communication, sign and perception theory, modes of narrativity and transmediality.
