Description
The study course “Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Pedagogy: Piano” Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden is with a duration of eight semesters. Students expand their musical-technical competencies and deepen their sense of style while working on the further development of technical skills with regard to a physiologically favorable playing style with an awareness of the required tension or possible relaxation when playing the piano. In the area of improvisation, the musical and pianistic abilities and skills are further developed and deepened. Students develop the imagination, willingness to take risks, to experiment and quick reactions, expand and differentiate their improvisational skills in traditional, avant-garde and freely combined polystyle. By learning to use different roles in playing with a partner participants also develop abilities such as to subordinate and to take the lead. Graduates will be able to apply their musical-technical skills in works of different epochs, geared to the requirements of later music pedagogy and artistic music pedagogical activity.
