The “Bachelor of Music in JRP: Trumpet (Artistic)” is a study course provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden with a duration of eight semesters total. The program explores in-depth the problem areas of sound, endurance, scope and control while teaching to handle basic concepts of improvisation and act as a soloist, instrumentalist or accompanist in a jazz/rock/pop ensemble. During their study, participants gain competencies in band work in various styles and are able to perform in a variety of ensembles while expanding their musical-technical skills and learn how to adequately present works from the classical repertoire in the broader sense. The program deepens the skills in sight-reading and in presenting student’s own composition or an arranged jazz standard and are able to deal intensively with the development of their individual artistic personality.
