The eight-semester study program “Bachelor of Music in JRP: Vocal Performance” is provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden. In this degree course, the prerequisites are developed necessary for later music making on a professional level while students are taught methods and ways of working that enable to refine and differentiate their technical and musical skills. Furthermore, they learn basic concepts of improvisation and deepen their knowledge of repertoire by playing as accompanist, instrumentalist or soloist in a Jazz/Rock/Pop ensemble. The program teaches basic speaking voice and artistic stylistic skills of stage speaking and introduces to the classical vocal repertoire. Students obtain strong competencies in band work in a variety of styles and will be able to make music in a variety of instrumentations and to deal with basic concepts of improvisation with a confident speaking voice.
