The Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden provides the degree program “Bachelor of Music in Music Theater Accompaniment” with a duration of eight semesters total. The students of the course learn the interpretation of large symphonic works, the accompaniment of solo concerts, and practice rehearsal and conducting entire operas using representative examples. The program enables the participants to provide both an oral and written account of their performance while teaching basic skills for recording, teaching, and interpreting stage works on the piano. By building on their musical and technical prerequisites, the students will acquire the ability to interpret structurally simpler stage works stylistically confidently and learn the basics of flexible and appropriate accompaniment.
