Provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden the study course “Master of Music in Music Theater Correpetition” is with a duration of four semesters. The already acquired skills of working on the piano, especially accompanying tasks, are further developed on a high artistic level while the course also trains the interpretation of difficult ballet music from the entire repertoire and the accompaniment of ballet training (improvisation). Students will be able to perform moderately difficult ballet music orchestral on the piano and to accompany ballet training while training orchestral piano playing. The course involves the development of communicative and verbal skills on a high artistic level and prospective students will be involved in chamber music projects as well as orchestral instruments and are able, through teacher-assisted instruction, to perform and rehearse solo concertos, primarily accompanied by orchestra, with teacher-assisted guidance.
