Description
Provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden the program “Bachelor of Music in Orchestra Conducting” is with a total length of eight semesters. It provides lessons in methodology, music theory, musicology and ear training with major subject of regular one-to-one lessons, piano, score playing, sight reading, accompaniment, figured bass and regular rehearsals. During the program, the students will become familiar with the basic requirements of orchestral conducting, learn the relevant technical requirements of conducting technique and discuss basic interpretative questions of interpretation using the example of the classical to romantic concert and opera repertoire. Graduates comprehend how to properly perform, develop and expressively interpret orchestral works while mastering the basic time signatures in conducting and have a secure rhythmic sense and a basic physical feeling for conducting.
