Description
Offered by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden the study course “Bachelor of Music in Piano (Artistic)” is with a total length of eight semesters. It focuses on the further development of the ability to play in a sufficiently relaxed manner. Through observation, participants become acquainted with different artistic and pianistic approaches and gain systematic insights into the conditions, possibilities and laws of chamber music making while expand their repertoire and become capable of stylistic differentiation. Graduates can understand and evaluate analytical contexts in a linguistically appropriate manner, form an understanding of music history in its overall cultural complexity and also to classify epochal classifications. With regard to artistic practice, the course also aims to impart competencies that enable students to question common interpretations from a historical and analytical point of view and develop their ability to comprehend the musical phenomena through listening in order to understand different cadential and final turns, as well as sequence and harmonic-contrapuntal models on the piano.
