The “Master of Music in JRP Saxophone” is with a duration of four semesters total and offered by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden. With a strong artistic-orientation, the program is characterized by a thorough study of jazz vocabulary and repertoire, on the basis of which personal musical ideas and strengths are individually promoted. The content includes the development and deepening of jazz-specific idioms such timing, phrasing and articulation, the improvising on functionally harmonious and modal compositions in different styles. During their study, participants are also able to improvise over different time signatures and play in different tempo levels and develop their own vocabulary and sound while during the the first two years of study, basic knowledge of classical saxophone playing is also imparted.
