The eight-semester artistic study course “Bachelor of Music in Vocals (Artistic)” is provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden. By providing elective modules in all genres such as oratorio, song, new music and operetta the content of the course includes main subjects in the first year of study with three teaching units per week, coaching, participation in concerts and music theater productions along with audition training and regular auditions in front of agencies and on the stages. The minor subjects of the program include scenic lessons, stage speaking, voice physiology, dance improvisation as well as events to promote career entry. During their study, the students obtain basic vocal and breath control skills as well as vocal, stylistic and musical basics while developing skills in breath control, body work, voice production and phonation. They learn to interpret easy texts and acquire basic knowledge of the Italian language, especially phonetics, the technical control of their voice, and to use their voice and body in the theatrical expression.
