The four-semester degree course “Master of Music in Opera” is provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden. With a special focus on opera, the program aims at further development of singing skills and repertoire providing music-dramatic lessons, participation in opera productions, audition coaching, "German Phonetics" for non-native speakers along with musicology and theory seminars. The course improves the technically confident and well-managed voice students have already acquired and enables to develop wide range of artistic expression in order to be able to perform the standard repertoire in the area of song and concert singing of all styles in a musically independent manner. Students obtain pronounced vocal technical confidence during an extensive repertoire of songs and concerts, stylistic confidence and a wide range of expressive nuances. Furthermore, they develop a distinctive stage presence and personality while also building on literary and musical knowledge and become able to present individual interpretations of the acquired concert and song repertoire in an artistically independent form on the concert podium.
