The “Teacher Training in Music” is provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden. The artistic-scientific program focuses on imparting in-depth knowledge as well as musical skills in all areas of music play while providing an introduction to topics, questions and forms of work in school music education in the history, present and future perspectives as well as in studies and the professional field. During the course, students learn to adapt the staging of teaching and learning situations to different learning areas and learning groups and become able to evaluate didactic decisions made with didactic intentions against the background of basic principles of music pedagogical thinking from the perspective of the teacher's role. Through the connection of body awareness and individual personality development, students are able to find an identity as music teachers and receive an adequate role behavior in the work with a group and an initial methodological repertoire of simple didactic forms of work.
