The “Bachelor of Music Timpani/Percussion Instruments (Artistic)” is with a length of eight semesters study course provided by the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden. Students obtain basic methodological repertoire with regard to the development of internal development of inner listening (solmization) as well as rhythm and body training and acquire insight into the different objectives of instrumental and vocal teaching. The course provides with initial knowledge in the areas of psychology of musical development and giftedness, of musical learning and the physiological requirements of instrumental playing. On the basis of this knowledge participants will be able to critically question and improve their own practicing, understand relevant works of instrumental pedagogical literature and learn to describe musical abilities and instrumental playing movements of beginners and advanced students while gaining first experience in conducting and planning lessons.
