The Catholic University of Applied Sciences, founded in 1971, is a church university with campuses in Aachen, Cologne, Paderborn, and Münster (North Rhine-Westphalia). It is sponsored by the dioceses of Aachen, Essen, Cologne, Münster, and Paderborn. Round about 4,000 students are provided with Bachelor and Master programs. The University breaks down into the following departments: the Department of Social Services, the Department of Health Science, and the Department of Theology.
