Description
The further training course “Aging in the Social Space and Neighbourhood” offered by Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg provides students with the needed knowledge and skills, in order to deal with the complex task, namely the successful aging in the familiar setting and the creation of suitable structures, in order to make it possible. Participants will learn how to improve the quality of life for the older people, how to strengthen intergenerational unity in residential communities, and which are the possibilities and limitation of establishing and supporting neighbourly support structures. Furthermore, students will be taught how to incorporate elderly and senior citizens in the local community. Some of the topics that will be addressed throughout the course are theoretical aging basics, local care, lobbying and policy advice, age diversity and gender issues, etc. Upon attendance of the program, students receive a Certificate of Advanced Studies that equals 30 ECTS.
