Description
The part-time study program “Master of Arts in Applied Gerontology” offered by Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg is suitable for people with prior experience in age-related areas of activity and needs a first professional university degree. Gerontologists study the aging process and the conditions that lead to happy, healthy, and productive aging. It is a special program, consisted of two advanced training courses, which has to be completed successfully, in order for a master`s degree module to be joined. The master module is attended at the Catholic University of Freiburg and lasts two semesters. Available are various specialisation areas. Students will learn the demands of academic work and writing, and will be prepared to create a Master`s thesis individually based on the essential criteria. During the course of study students will build a professional identity as gerontologists that is founded on professional aims and standards of action, as well as professional society criteria, both in science and in areas outside of science.
