The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Healthcare Management” offered by Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg will help students improve their professional and personal skills in the sphere of management. The program offers a well-founded scientific qualification that is both practice-oriented and contains research skills. Students will learn how to solve technological problems and experiment with scientific work and learning initiatives. Students study essentially in form of project works in group of 10 to 15 students together with a professor, on a specific issue. Incorporated to the curriculum, there is an internship, lasting at least 60 days. The research workshop in the sixth and seventh semesters aims to discover significant scientific challenges in the area of management, create a potential systematic approach to dealing with them, and critically assess them in a discussion with lecturers and other students. Some of the topics that are addressed throughout the course of study are organizational development, ethical aspects of health care, project management, personnel development, etc. Upon successful completion of the program graduates can work in hospitals, outpatient care centres, pharmaceutical companies, health care consultancies, etc.
