The certificate program “Interdisciplinary Focus on Applied Gerontology” offered by Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg is a joint program with the Evangelical University of Freiburg. Students will acquire basic knowledge of demographic changes in the society and the subsequent living conditions and lifestyle changes of the elderly. Furthermore, participants will be taught about the health, social, and psychological elements that determine the aging process. Moreover, they will develop competencies in the fields of activity for working with old people such as diagnostics, education, management, etc. Participants have also the opportunity to choose a specific focus from the field. As a result of an oral exam, students then receive a certificate.
