The study program “Bachelor of Arts in Social Work” offered by Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg provides students with a fundamental education, preparing them for career in all areas of social work. This program is based on a idea known as the “Freiburg Model”, whose essential characterises are orientation towards fields of action, interdisciplinary teaching and learning, etc. Students learn how to analyse life and problem situation, to gain descriptive and practical knowledge and to put it into practice, to work with organisations and social services, and to deal with other essential social work challenges. Participants can also specialise in one of the fields of activity – social work in gerontological fields in health care, social work in the fields of migration, social work with families, social work with children in different life situations, etc.
