The Catholic University of Applied Sciences Mainz, founded in 1972, is a state-accredited ecclesiastical university seated in Mainz, Rhineland-Palatinate. It is sponsored by the Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft zur Förderung von Wissenschaft und Bildung mbH (Caritas Germany) of the bishopcrics of Limburg, Speyer, Mainz, Cologne, and Trier. The University accomodates round about 1,300 students. It provides Bachelor and Master degree programs in three departments: the Department of Social Work, the Department of Practical Theology, and the Department of Health Care and Nursing. The Department of Social Work offers the following degree programs: “Social Work“ (B.A.), the international Bachelor degree program “Social Sciences: Migration and Integration“ (B.A.), as well as the consecutive Master degree program “Social Work: Counselling and Case Management“ (M.A.). The Department of Health Care and Nursing comprises the dual Bachelor study course “Health Care and Nursing“ (B.Sc.), as well as the consecutive Master degree programs “Management in Health Care and Nursing“ (M.A.), “Education in Health Care and Nursing“ (M.A.), as well as “Clinical Expertise in Health Care and Nursing“ (M.Sc.). The Department of Practical Theology provides the degree program “Practical Theology“ (B.A.).
