Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, founded in 1980, is a Bavarian ecclesiastical university sponsored by the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt foundation. Being the only Catholic university in Germany, it ranks among the largest state-approved German universities. It currently accomodates round about 5,400 students. The University is split up into eight faculties: the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Philosophy and Education, the Faculty of Languages and Literature, the Faculty of History and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Mathematics and Geography, the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, the Faculty of Social Work, and the Faculty of Religious Education. The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics is located in Ingolstadt, the central location of the campus is in Eichstätt. The educational portfolio of the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt comprises more than 40 study programs at Bachelor’s and Master’s level. In addition to first-degree studies, the University also provides extra-occupational Master programs as well as continuing education programs, including doctoral programs.
