The Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) is one of the innovative pioneers in the Bavarian higher education landscape. In particular, with its current 13 research and technology campuses throughout Bavaria, the DIT is a role model in the concept of regionalisation of research. Business and local authorities are close partners of the university. As a result, DIT graduates are also sought-after young professionals. The thematic focus of studies is on economics, engineering, computer science and applied natural and health sciences.
The eight faculties and the Centre for Academic Continuing Education at the DIT offer around 80 different Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in the fields of economics, engineering, computer science, applied natural sciences and health sciences. At the faculty European Campus Rottal-Inn (ECRI), internationally oriented Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes are offered in the fields of health sciences and technology.
As a university town, Deggendorf has many advantages. The distances between campus, city area and halls of residence are short and within walking distance. The moderate housing and living costs are a plus for many students. The nearby Danube beach, the Danube itself and the Bavarian Forest offer the opportunity for many leisure activities. There is also an extensive programme of music festivals, concerts, theatre and club life. In university sports, competitive athletes can take part in competitions in many sports, e.g. the Bavarian and German university championships.
